CLOSED AND SPLIT

Thin Section Bearings

Thin section bearings are single row rolling bearings that have the same square cross-sections within a type series, irrespective of the bore diameter, and have extremely thin-walled bearing rings.

Closed                                         thin section bearings

Are manufactured from different steel grades and in chrome-plated design in 10 cross-sectional sizes such as radial-, angular contact- and four-point bearings. Additionally available in sealed version as radial- and four point bearings. The use of various cage materials such as brass, steel, stainless steel as well as PA6, nylon, PEEK phenolic resin and PTFE allow maximum flexibility under a wide range of applications. Sealed bearings are available with rubber seals as standard or with particularly low-friction Teflon seals.

Split                                           thin section bearings

These are refined rolling bearings with split inner and outer rings made of drawn stainless steel sections. The dimensions and cross-sections of the bearings are largely similar to those of classic thin-section bearings. Split thin-section bearings are manufactured as crossed roller bearings PSX with 8.0 mm cross-section and as axial four-point bearings PBA with 5 different cross-sections. Radial bearings are available as four point bearings PBX, as angular contact ball bearings PBSD and as deep groove ball bearings PBCD.

Technical Information - Catalogs

Closed thin section bearings are widely used in industrial, aerospace applications.

They are available as radial ball bearings, angular contact ball bearings and four point contact ball bearings, have a constant cross section per type series, independent of the bore size, available in various cross sections also in sealed design, rings are made of chrome and stainless steel, cage material of steel, brass and plastic, preloaded and available as hybrid bearings.

High reliability and multiple award-winning quality are the best proof of satisfied customers worldwide. The products are manufactured with high vertical integration and are tested and produced according to ISO 9001:2000 and EN/JISQ/AS9100:2004.

PBX radial four point contact bearings are available exclusively as four point contact bearings with 90° contact angle in cross sections 3.175 x 3.175 mm (1/8"), 4.5 x 4.5 mm, 6.35 mm x 6.35 mm (1/4"), 9.525 x 9.525 mm (3/8") and 12.7 x 12.7 mm (1/2").

The bearing rings are made of stainless steel material 1.4034 as standard, the balls are supplied in 100Cr6 as standard, optionally also available in stainless steel, the cages are made of plastic polyamide PA12.

The split radial thin-section ball bearings are available as angular contact ball bearings, radial ball bearings, 3-point and 4-point bearings.

Axial four point contact bearings PBA have thin-walled square cross-sections, independent of the bore diameter, inner rings and outer rings are split as standard.

The split thin-section bearings are supplied with glass balls, ceramic balls, plastic balls, steel balls or stainless steel balls, depending on the requirements.

PBA four point thrust bearings with 90° contact angle are available in 6.35 mm x 6.35 mm (1/4"), 9.525 x 9.525 mm (3/8") and 12.7 x 12.7 mm (1/2") cross sections.

Deep groove ball bearings PBCD have thin-walled square cross-sections, regardless of the bore diameter, inner and outer rings are split as standard.

The split thin-section bearings are supplied with glass balls, ceramic balls, plastic balls, steel balls or stainless steel balls, depending on the requirements.

The deep groove ball bearing PBCD with 45° contact angle is available in cross section and 12,7 x 12,7 mm (1/2").

The bearing rings are made of stainless steel material 1.4034 as standard, the balls are made of 100 Cr6, optionally available in stainless steel, the cages are made of plastic polyamide PA12.

Another product of the split thin-section bearings are the crossed roller bearings PSX-08, with cross section 8x8 mm, with split inner and outer ring, made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel material 1.4034.

The cylindrical rollers are guided in a cage band, which reduces friction and increases smoothness. Due to its shape, the cage band also performs the function of a cover as well as a certain sealing.

The roller bearings are preloaded in the h7/H7 tolerance range through precise manufacture of the mounting parts, thus achieving high bearing rigidity.

The crossed roller bearings are very suitable for supporting axial loads acting on both sides and can transmit high moment loads.

The bearings are available in bore sizes 80 to 500 mm, intermediate sizes are possible by agreement.

The following properties characterize the bearings

  • Free choice of material for the adjacent construction for example light metal, non-ferrous metal, ceramic
  • No functional impairment when using different materials, as rings are split
  • Good corrosion resistance due to the use of stainless steel material, low maintenance
  • High static and dynamic load capacity
  • Long life span
  • High rigidity (due to more rolling elements)
  • Light bearing weight
  • Simple and economical installation and removal due to elimination of special devices
  • Interesting price / performance ratio
  • Short delivery times even for intermediate sizes.

The many possible combinations of bearing ring, cage, rolling element paired with a wide variety of materials enable special customized rolling bearing designs. Therefore, you should consult us accordingly to achieve the best solution for your needs.
